La 60e cérémonie des Oscars du cinéma, organisée par l'Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), a eu lieu le 11 avril 1988 au Shrine Auditorium, à Los Angeles, à partir de 18 h (heure du Pacifique), récompensant en vingt-deux catégories les films sortis en 1987. Diffusée aux États-Unis par ABC, la cérémonie a été produite par Samuel Goldwyn Jr. et réalisée par Marty Pasetta. Chevy Chase l'a animée pour la deuxième année consécutive. Deux semaines plus tôt, lors d'une cérémonie tenue au Beverly Hilton, à Beverly Hills, en Californie, le 27 mars, les Oscars techniques avaient été remis par Shirley Jones.
